Foreign Trade consists of both imports and exports of goods and services which is governed by the Foreign Trade Regulation Act, Customs Act and the Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 (FEMA).  Offices of the Director General of Foreign Trade,  Indian Customs and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) together with the commercial banks facilitate and regulate imports, exports and inward and outward foreign currency remittances.
